Pediatrics, Chronic Kidney Disease, Kidney Transplant, Surgery, Quality of Life, Immersive Technologies

Kai recently graduated from the University of Toronto with an Honours Bachelor of Science in Human Biology, with minors in Immunology and Biology.

He is passionate about improving the lives of children with chronic illnesses, with a particular focus on chronic kidney disease, kidney transplantation, and quality of life in pediatric patients. He also has a strong interest in surgery and the use of immersive technologies, such as augmented and mixed reality, to advance medical education and improve patient care. His interest in pediatrics was shaped through research and clinical exposure at the Hospital for Sick Children.

During his undergraduate years, he contributed to research in neuropsychology, urology, and cancer care, co-authoring publications and presenting at conferences. He values research as a way to bring both scientific knowledge and compassion into healthcare. He hopes to continue building on these experiences to make a meaningful difference in children’s lives.

Outside of academics, he enjoys staying active and spending time outdoors. He often goes hiking, camping, and skiing. He also has a lifelong passion for sports, both as a player and a fan.
