Lucas is a graduate of the University of Victoria, where he earned a degree in Psychology with distinction, focusing on clinical and developmental neuroscience. He has experience as a research assistant in pediatric neuropsychology and as a team lead on a translational oncology study that adapted a cognitive rehabilitation game for children recovering from chemotherapy. Inspired by both his research and lived experience with traumatic brain injury, Lucas is passionate about improving care for children and youth with brain injuries. Through the Translational Research Program, he hopes to gain the skills needed to design innovative, patient-centered tools that bridge neuroscience, machine learning, and clinical practice. In his free time, Lucas enjoys exploring new places to eat, trying to recreate the foods he tries at restaurants, and playing basketball.
