Jamie is, first and foremost, a proud alumnus of the TRP. He also holds a B.Sc. (Hons.) in Genetics from the University of Western Ontario, where he completed the Science Internship Program and worked in Operational Quality at Sanofi Pasteur Ltd. During his time as a student at the TRP, Jamie’s capstone project focused on identifying the core pillars of effective interdisciplinary care in chronic pain management and translating those pillars into an actionable intervention to better support both patients and care providers.

Jamie’s TRP capstone project has since spun out into PainBase Inc., a pre-seed venture dedicated to enabling a networked, interdisciplinary approach to care for individuals living with chronic pain, with an initial focus on back and spine–related conditions. Jamie credits his TRP training as foundational to his ability to reason through complexity and navigate the challenges inherent in early-stage startup development.

In addition, Jamie is the owner of EarlyEdge Consulting, a boutique consultancy that supports a diverse range of initiatives. Its work spans medical communications projects for large life sciences consulting firms to advising early-stage founders on clarifying their value proposition, identifying the most appropriate market need for their proposed intervention, and developing thoughtful go-to-market strategies and customer acquisition plans.

Jamie has always valued the role of academia in shaping his career and is enthusiastic about joining the TRP team.
