Angelina Da Silva

BSc

Angelina Da Silva is a first-generation student and researcher in the Translational Research Program at the University of Toronto. She completed her BSc (Hons) in Biomedical Sciences co-op with a minor in Psychology at Toronto Metropolitan University, graduating with distinction.

She is dedicated to bridging the gap between laboratory research and clinical applications with her previous experience in co-op work terms.

Angelina served as a Research Assistant at the Botelho Lab in MaRS Discovery District, where she worked on the role of the 3BP2 protein in autoimmune disease. She also has a background in quality control at Apotex Inc. and patient screening at The Hospital for Sick Children, contributing to innovative solutions that can improve patient experiences.

In addition to her research, Angelina served as a Co-op Peer Advisor, mentoring students to secure placements in the Biomedical field, and as President of the TMU Portuguese Association, highlighting her leadership and community involvement.

Outside of her academic and community endeavours, she is a professional dancer with achievements such as receiving the Golden Buzzer in Canada’s Got Talent. This highlights their dedication and understanding of the arts, bringing forth new perspectives towards future research projects.
