1. SGS Application Form
To start your application you must go to the School of Graduate Studies Online Application Form.
2. SGS Application Fee
Before we are able to review your materials you must pay the SGS Application Fee.
When complete, your application will be reviewed for completeness and fit with our selection criteria.
After your completed application is submitted, strong applicants will be contacted for an interview. Interviews (usually) are done in person for local applicants and online for applicants outside of the Greater Toronto Area. The interview is your opportunity to find out more about how the program will fit with your learning objectives and to discuss your circumstances and candidacy.
Following the interview, our Program Committee will review your file and the notes from the interview and make a recommendation on your application (Recommend, Reject, or More Information Needed).
The departmental Admissions Committee or its designate(s) review the recommendations and applications, approve or decline admission offers, and set admission conditions (when applicable) for successful candidates.
Successful applicants will receive a letter of offer (typically a PDF). Candidates have up to two weeks to make their decisions. Since enrollment is limited, candidates who commit to the program will have a reserved space that will not be offered to other prospective students.
8. Fees & Registration
Candidates who accept the offer are reserved a position in the next cohort and may register for the program when all applicable fees are paid or deferred.
Direct and open discussion is the best way to ensure a match between the program and the applicant. Thus, all eligible applicants who submit completed applications (including LOI, CV, unofficial transcripts, application fee, and 3 referee letters) will be contacted for an interview.
After the interview, your application documents and TRP assessment are forwarded to the Program and Admissions Committee for review. Upon review, the Admissions Committee may issue an “Offer of Admission”. In some cases, the Committee may make a conditional offer or defer their decision and ask for more documentation.
Successful applicants will be contacted in writing. Since the TRP is a cohort-based program with a limited enrollment, you will be given two weeks to decide whether to accept, reject, or defer your offer, after which other applicants will be contacted. Once the cohort has been established, letters will be sent to the unsuccessful applicants. Since enrollment is limited (25-30 students per cohort), not all applicants who meet the minimum requirements are made offers of admission.
We will be conducting interviews on an ongoing basis. You will be invited for an interview as soon as your application is complete. Offer letters will be also sent on an ongoing basis. Prospective students who apply after the cohort places are filled will be offered to join a waiting list.
