Clinical Research Assistant at the University Health Network
Brief BioResearch has always been a part of my life: from my high school International Baccalaureate Diploma research project in biology to my HBSc in Biology thesis in immunology and my MPH research project in sexual violence and public health. I also worked as an Orthopaedic Research Assistant at Thunder Bay Regional Health Research Institute, coordinating orthopaedic clinical research studies. However, I have always felt something was missing; merely conducting research and obtaining results did not satisfy me. My experience working with clinical research patients in the vulnerable and isolated Northwestern Ontario made me realize the reason for my dissatisfaction: I want to bring the same benefits research patients experience to all patients. I want to be a research translator.
