Bio Brief

The focus of Dr. Rezende-Neto's research within the Keenan Centre for Biomedical Research and Li Ka Shing Knowledge Institute is on the inflammatory response to traumatic injuries and hemorrhage. Dr. Rezende Neto’s research integrates basic sciences with clinical investigations including designing of devices that potentially benefit trauma and acute care surgery patients; he currently holds two patents. His basic science research primarily focuses on strategies that can be used to decrease bleeding from trauma and modulate the inflammatory response to injury including resuscitation fluids with free radical scavenger capability.
