A research professional currently working on a longitudinal celiac disease research study at The Hospital for Sick Children. Over 15 years, my career has taken me across three continents, from engaging in direct medical practice to developing healthcare projects in Sub-Saharan Africa, reflecting a diverse and impactful portfolio in global health. Notable initiatives include establishing a tele-obstetrics program in rural Tanzania and improving maternal and child health in Ethiopia.

As an active member of the United States Down Syndrome Medical Interest Group (DSMIG), I am also involved in initiatives aimed at enhancing awareness and guidance regarding Autism Spectrum Disorder in children with Down Syndrome.

Enrolling in the Translational Research Program was a strategic step toward a better understanding of the Canadian healthcare landscape and an enhanced ability to navigate its regulatory framework. This program offers a rich blend of hands-on experience with real-life healthcare challenges and the opportunity to collaborate with a diverse network of professionals.

Outside of my research commitments, I serve as an Experience Advisor at Women's College Hospital and as a Disaster Assistance Responder with the Canadian Red Cross. Beyond the professional sphere, I enjoy traveling to explore new destinations and learning to cook dishes from various cuisines.
