Capstone Projects
What are Capstone Projects?
Adapted from the definition of "Action Research" by Rory O'brien
TRP Capstone project is "learning by doing" - where learners "identify a person-centered problem or unmet need, try something to resolve it, and see how successful their efforts are. If not satisfied, they try again or propose what should be done differently next time."

Capstone Projects in Translational Research are a vehicle for learning to integrate knowledge and an opportunity to demonstrate new skills and competencies that are core-learning outcomes for the Masters in Health Science in Translational Research. The project course provides opportunities to network and develop professional contacts through student-initiated activities such as interviews, engaging contacts as mentors, and committee members and collaborators. Through capstone projects students gain skills and competencies to navigate ambiguity and deal with setbacks in real-world contexts.
