Abitha is passionate about improving health outcomes for marginalized communities, including people of colour, the neurodiverse population, and the 2SLGBTQ+ community. Her specific research interests include mental health and reproductive health. In her current role at the Canadian Coalition of Seniors' Mental Health, she is contributing to a systematic review informing national guidelines on the treatment of anxiety in older adults. Within the TRP, she is currently collaborating on a Capstone project to help empower autistic adults to communicate their mental health needs to care professionals. Her passions outside of research include performing music, composing poetry, and sustainable fashion.
