My story begins with passion and curiosity on the human body and to understand how intricate biological systems work harmoniously to form the body. This very passion led me to medical school. I studied medicine at Tehran University of Medical Sciences. In medical school, I was predominantly interested in the central nervous system and worked as a research assistant in several basic neuropharmacological projects. I was also interested in cancer research. After graduation, I served as a general physician in rural and less developed regions of Iran to help the ethnic and religious minorities residing in those regions have sufficient access to primary health care. By studying translational research, my dream is to be part of a new generation of scholars and clinicians who could genuinely revolutionize medical care.
