    1. Black Futures Month Healthcare Webinar Series,
      i) February 18 @ 1:00 pm – 2:00 pm. This month-long event is co-created to highlight the voices of Black nurses and scholars using strength-based approaches to address the specific health and wellness needs as well as the inequities experienced by Black communities across Canada
    1. The African Diaspora, Anti-Black Racism and Sport in Canada
      i) February 18 @ 6:00 pm – 7:00 pm. Dr. Joseph will share her perspectives on the African diaspora in sport, and her partnership with The Black Canadian Coaches Association (BCCA), which aims to raise awareness, develop policy, and build educational tools to eliminate systemic anti-Black racism within Canadian college and university sport
    2. Black Excellence: History of Toronto Kiki Ballroom Panel.
      i) February 22 @ 5:00 pm – 6:30 pm Join Toronto Kiki Ballroom legends Twysted Siriano, Snoopy, Seven Magnifique, and Vixen 007 to learn the history behind Toronto’s Kiki Ballroom scene from those who helped start it all, and continue to contribute to the thriving cultural community it is today.
    1. Black Voices in Can Lit
      i) February 22 @ 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm. Join us for a conversation with Jael Richardson, Ian Williams, and Andrea Davis about their personal journeys as Black writers and professionals in Canadian literature, and explore how Black writers are shaping the future of Canadian literature by working at the crossroads of identity, culture, and creativity.
    2. Black Excellence: Beautiful Black Bodies
      i) February 23 @ 5:00 pm – 6:30 pm. Body diversity is celebrated in the Ballroom community and a pillar of acceptance in the House of Pink Lady! Join House Mother SlimThick Pink Lady, and members of the House of Pink Lady Juju and GunShow – for a roundtable on body body body!
    3. A Portal to Change: Connections & Conversations Celebrates Black History Month
      i) February 24 @ 12:00 pm – 1:00 pm. C & C members are invited to join our distinguished panel of speakers for a discussion on what an architecture of inclusion might look like and some practical strategies Black staff can use to harness this momentum and better imagine new possibilities for themselves.

3. Other U of T Events 

    1. Feb 24 ~ Exploring Black & Indigenous Futurisms 2021  
      i) Black and Indigenous writers and artists lead a discussion about grappling with their place, culture and identity now and in the future. The event features Genie-winning filmmaker Lisa Jackson, photographic artist Adeyemi Adegbesan, and futurist writer Stephanie Chrismon. The talk, organized by Hart House, will be moderated by Audrey Hudson, chief of education and programming at the Art Gallery of Ontario, and Karyn Recollet, an associate professor at U of T’s Women and Gender Studies Institute. 4 – 6 p.m.
