TRP Focuses on transferable competencies

AGE-WELL and the TRP are proud to announce the AGE-WELL TRP Graduate Student Award in Technology and Aging.  The purpose of this award is to encourage TRP students to focus on research aimed at understanding, advancing, encouraging and promoting education and research around accessible policies, services, and technologies that help older Canadians maintain their independence, health, and quality of life by increasing their safety and security, supporting independent living, and enhancing social participation.
 
Award Overview
Deadline:                                 July 1, 2020
Value/Duration:                       $5,000 per session for 2 consecutive sessions
Level of study:                         Master’s
Required Legal Status:            Domestic students (Canadian citizen, permanent resident, protected persons) or International (valid study permit)
Eligibility
Applicants must:

  • Be registered or intend to register in the TRP on a full-time basis in 2020-2021
  • Be a Canadian Citizen, Permanent Resident, Protected Persons or hold a valid study permit (International)
  • Have achieved at least B+ (or equivalent) in the last two completed years of study

 
To be eligible to hold the award, recipients:

  • Must register and remain enrolled as a full-time student at the TRP
  • Must remain in good standing at the TRP and to make satisfactory progress toward the completion of degree requirements.
  • Must register and complete the AGE-WELL EPIC Training and Development Program

 
Application Process
Applicants must submit the following to trp@utoronto.ca:

  • Curriculum Vitae
  • Academic Record (Up-to-date transcripts of all undergraduate and graduate studies (including those from U of T) must be scanned and combined as a single pdf file
    • Scanned unofficial, student-issued, or web transcripts are permitted
  • Letter of Interest
    • Must specify their interest in technology and aging
    • Provide a short summary of a potential capstone project idea in the area of technology and aging
