Project Mitoc: A Persuasive mHealth Application for Improving Patient Psychosocial Supports for Opioid Prescription Adherence and Tapering

Increased opioid-related hospitalizations and deaths correlate with increased high-dose prescribing and consumption. Assisting opioid-prescribed patients in dose reduction can lead to a lower opioid-related deaths and hospitalizations. Mobile health (mHealth) technologies offer a potential strategy for assisting patients. mHealth uses mobile applications to deliver psychosocial interventions that evoke behavioural change regarding opioid use.
